Conscious Embodiment is a practice derived from the revolutionary non-aggressive martial art of Aikido. This practice allows us to unify the energy of the body and thus learn to trust our sensations, which are the basis of bodily intuition and wisdom. Using principles from Aikido and other spiritual practices, these classes offer ways of understanding mental and emotional habits of attention from an energetic viewpoint. There is within each of us a latent power of intuition and unconditional love. By cultivating this natural healing power, we can increase our capacity for wisdom, confidence, and happiness that will radiate out into the world. The Theme for Courses and Workshops in 2009 will be Intuition -- Intuition accesses the universal data bank. This part of us is wise and creative in addressing some of the personal and global challenges we are facing.
Through centering techniques known as Basic Practice, the body becomes our stable reference point. This allows us to contact the part of ourselves that is wise, kind and capable of powerful, embodied action. Training these principles strengthens our sense of self and deepens our capacity for relationship and leadership.
