Summer greetings,
I have been working with posture, shape and space as a way to activate
a more relaxed, clear, and efficient way to be embodied.
Take a moment to center and as you breathe recover a dignified upright
posture. Let the muscles soften around your vertical core. Focus the
shape of your energy -- a balanced field that includes what is
happening in the moment -- and then the triangular action shape that
carries your intention out into the world. Now bring your attention to
the space in the cells within your body and your field of
presence. Feel the aliveness of the ki (chi) that pulsates through
that space, extending out into the environment.
Summer is here and the long days draw me out into the garden. I can
see the effect the environment has on the plants. Wind, sun and water
all affect the health and productivity of a plant's life. When a plant
has a supportive, balanced environment it tends to be healthy and
productive.
Our environment too affects visibility. The environment plays a
powerful part in whether we feel safe enough to intend to be
visible. We think that the environment is created by others or outside
circumstances but from a Conscious Embodiment view it is we who create
our own environment. As we center ourselves our energy reorganizes and
shapes itself in accord with universal principles. There is a vertical
reference point based on ground and uplifted ness. We begin here
between heaven and earth.
In the Conscious Embodiment centering practice we exhale down,
imagining the breath spiraling down in to the earth. As we do this we
are establishing our taproot. Then just as in plant life, the inhale
flows and spirals upward, reaching toward the sun.
Once we establish the vertical core then we can tolerate the
experience of visibility. We can open and extend out into the
horizontal world of people, responsibilities and tasks. Now we can be
seen and engage from a place of confidence. There is no need for
verification and no agenda so we can act openly and honestly. We can
speak our truth, advocate with out aggression and listen with out
needing to fix the situation.
Remember don't try to hold on to center, any kind of gripping stresses
the system. Life is stimulating and our personalities are easily
distracted. This is natural and we can be compassionate with this part
of ourselves. The good news is that we can recover center by shifting
our attention to our posture, shape and space. It only takes a few
seconds.
May we continue to cultivate presence, confidence and compassion in
all our endeavors.
I am happy to say we have just found a space for a Level 1 course in
